The Forum: Media and Religion

Religion has been a hot topic in the news this week. On the Forum we’re going to chat about some of the issues which have been making headlines:
An Anglican priest in Auckland has called for the Bible in Schools programme to be cut. He says the programme is a breach of human rights on children. Do you reckon Bible in Schools should stay or go?

A two-year-old girl suffering a rare kidney disease has been put into the guardianship of the state because her Jehovah's Witness parents will not allow her to receiving a life-saving kidney and liver transplant. Should the government be able to interfere with parents’ decisions like this?

In Australia there is a suggestion that priests should be forced to reveal crimes they hear in confessionals. Should they have to give up confidentiality like that?

Listen below for the audio.
