The Animated EP project has begun for NZ Music Month. Saskia and I are hitting up kiwi musicians for their cover's of Disney (and other animated movie) songs.
We're building the tracklist over the course of NZ music Month:
TRACK 1) Dusky Doves, Ben from Mali Mali & Alice from Farah Loux on harp... 'So this is Love' from Cinderella
Check out the original version:
TRACK 2) Lydia Cole: 'Mother Earth & Father Time' from Charlottes Web
Part 2 of the movie version:
TRACK 3) Asher: 'Arabian Nights Remix' from Aladdin
The ultimate accessory for a Batman fan, your very own Batcave!!! Super cool - and what a supportive family. Very impressed!
from Saskias Cnr today: We had a chat about local lads Mali Mali and the new music vid for their 'Song for the Sun'
they're also the current Kiwi Download - find that here!
and listen to their recent homegrown show with Jon here...
from Saskias Cnr today...
we found out Saskia has a 'Korean Fan Girl' past - in fact this is the song that started it all when she saw this out the corner of her eye at a milk tea store in takapuna...
And this is f (x) the K-Pop girl band who are in the country filming their tv show at the moment! Not a bad tune...
A week before Easter, we ran a board game competition giving away a copy of the game Dixit. We put up a picture from the game and asked people to write a story about it. This is the picture that inspired our winner Andrew's story about a sleepy dragon.
The story was so epic we thought it would sound smashing with a classic english narrator... we were right. check it out!
From Saskia's Corner today...
You'd have to be pretty committed to make this!
'This stop motion tribute to my 2 favorite old school arcade games is based on actual recorded game footage. The recordings were printed out, one frame at a time, and transferred by hand to various walls around my office floor using thousands of Post-It Notes. The process consumed weekends and holidays for the past 11 months. Changing background scenery was masked out and replaced with 1 consistent frame throughout the animation, producing an eerie stillness amid the moving images on the walls.' - Michael Birken

After doing our version of the Japenese 'Hadoken' poses Saskia decided to art it up a touch... We also realised 'Vadering' is a thing now too...
recently we spoke about retro games, here's the site to track them down! GOG.com
if you're wondering the 'Hadoken' is classic street fighter - Exhibit A:
We noted another classic force punch, the Hadokens epic cousin from Dragonball Z the 'Kamehameha!'
