Two Life FM bands announced that they were ending the road / taking indefintite hiatus today. I know, sad right??
Addison Road have announced that their time as a band has come to a close. Band front-woman Jenny Simmons (who started the band with now-husband Ryan) said:
"I hate break-ups, but this was as beautiful as a split can be! The guys were tired of living out of buses and leaving their families behind. In our case it was taking a toll on our marriage to raise our daughter on the road, work together, and then try and be married at the end of the day."\
She's already got a solo album on the way though - look for The Becoming early next year.
Also Sent By Ravens have announced that they're wrapping up as well:
"We are looking forward to spending some much needed time with our families and friends, building on those relationships that truly make our hearts happy. In the meantime, keep an eye out for other projects as I'm sure each of us will continue to pursue something with music."
I'll just go have a wee cry over here. Don't mind me.
From - New Release Tuesday
Sent By Ravens made an impressive debut two years ago with Our Graceful Words, proving themselves to be one of the more solid new faces on the Christian Hard Rock scene. Now they're back for their sophomore album entitled Mean What You Say, and anybody worried that their strong debut was just a fluke can breathe easy.
Right away, it's clear that Sent By Ravens stuck with what works for them. "Prudence" opens the album on a high note with a fierce, yet polished and accessible hard rock sound that carries through most of the album. Most of these songs would feel right at home on either Christian or Secular rock radio, especially a song like "However Long It Takes," which I personally felt echoed a few vibes of bands like Daughtry.
Lead single "Learn from the Night" follows in the footsteps of "Beautiful List" as the rock ballad the band uses as their first single. With a music box-like opening, the song proves to be an album highlight. Other great moments include the powerful ballad "Never Be Enough," the thumping title track ("Mean What You Say"), and the stirring closer "Best in Me."
Less than 10 days to go till the New Year! Oh man!!! I'm pretty excited for a whole bunch of albums that bands are working on right now.
Jimmy Needham has a hymns album possible out in March, Sent By Ravens should be ready with their new record early next year, Anberlin are writing new material, and my personal favourite band ever House Of Heroes are in the studio right now working on the follow up to Suburba. Check out the video :)
Sidenote: HoH have release ALL their old-school stuff on iTunes for the first time. Worth checking out if you're a fan.
