Joining Stan Walker on the X Factor NZ judging panel is kiwi songstress (that even a word???) Ruby Frost! The crew of four also features Daniel Bedingfield (I'm sure he'll get through this just fine...) and Melanie Blatt from the UK girl-groupd All Saints.
The pre-audition tour wraps up next week with Auckland this weekend, and New Plymouth, Whangarei, Kerikeri, and Kaitia after that.
So with Parachute done and dusted (seriously, that dust was cruel this year), you might've missed some of the albums that Kiwi artists released over the weekend. Let me help with that.
The Ember Days - More Than You Think
One of the best worship albums you will hear this year. These guys know what they're doing - and do it oh so well! Free from comeandlive.com or buy it on iTunes and support them.
Edge Kingsland - Vol. 2 | due north
Local worship from one of the best collections of musicians and songwriters Auckland has. You'll listen to this on repeat for hours. Meant to be on iTunes by the end of the week.
Late 80s Mercedes - Diamonds EP
Always a Parachute Festival favourite, the guys have released a new collection of songs. Some originals, some new covers - get it on iTunes or Spotify and enjoy a little more summer.
After a couple of KILLER sets at Parachute 2013, Rapture Ruckus has released a live version of his new song "In Crowd", recorded over Parachute weekend.
Head to his website and punch in your email address to get the download, and if you're in Palmy North, Wellington, & Whangarei - hit iTicket.co.nz and get along to his only other NZ shows before he heads back to the states for the rest of the year.
New Zealand alternative-country band Great North have been awarded the NZ Music Award for best folk album of 2012.
The album Halves, released last May, has been critically acclaimed by reviewers up and down the country, for the "sophisticated lyrics to the marvellous instrumental accompaniment".
So you might not be at Parachute 2013, but you can check the new video from Evermore before anyone else can! The new single "Hero" comes from their album Follow The Sun which is out now, and brilliant (jut FYI).
It's pretty sweet having bands that have been around for ages, and you go through all stages of life with them.
Trevor from Thousand Foot Krutch has announced on twitter that he's going to be a Dad this year!! Also Bianca from Group 1 Crew has announced that her and her husband are expecting their first baby in August too!
Check out the new music video for Dukes' song "Sweet". Very cool idea, to match the very coolness of the song.
Hopefully it won't be too long till an EP (or maybe even a full length album) is out from these guys - I'll keep you posted.
Head to paramore.net to stream Paramore's new song "Now" and (in the next couple of days) pre-order options for the international store will go live so you can get their new album first. Due April 9, and I'd expect most of the preorder options to come with an instant download of the new song.
