This weekend Auckland band Young Lyre are releasing their hot new EP Night Swimming so, earlier on this week, Jon E went to one of their practices to get the inside scoop.

Kiwi Music Update

Parachute Music announced their top 5 for their Opener competition this morning. Go check the list and vote for your favourite here.

The Jury & the Saints played their first ever New Plymouth gig on the Revolution Tour last night. Tour continues for the rest of NZ Music Month so get along!

Ruby Frost has announced her new album Volititions will release next month. 

And Young Lyre have been announced as one of the acts that will play at The Whiskey Live! Wednesday May 30th with Cairo Knife Fight, Knives at Noon, Autozamm and DJ Tiger Girl! There's limited tickets available so don't miss out!

You can check the video on demand at the TVNZ website, and I would say catch them live on Thursday night in Auckland as they open for Kaiser Chiefs, but that show is sold out... sorry bout that!

New Young Lyre track

Just before heading out on tour with Midnight Youth, the boys in Young Lyre have been busy working some new music for you, which they've JUST launched on the good ol' facebook. New track is called 'Make Light' and when you hit up their page to listen to it, you can download their other song 'Cinema Smile' for free. 

The tour kicks off on December 15 in Christchurch, so check to see if its coming past you and get along!!!
