29th April: Drinking

This week our politicians have been debating whether to change the drinking age from 18 to 20. We’re going to talk about this on the Forum this Sunday night.

Do you think the drinking age should be raised? How would it impact your life if it was changed?

Why does NZ have a binge drinking problem? Would raising the drinking age actually change this?

How do you and the people around you drink (or not drink)? Binge drinking used to be mostly a male issue but now girls seem to be as into it as guys are. Why is that?

Listen below to hear how it went.

15th April: Body Image

There was an interesting law passed recently in Israel which bans underweight models from catwalks and commercials. Women and men now cannot be hired for modeling jobs unless a doctor says that they are not underweight.

It’s hoped that this will reduce eating disorders and promote healthy body image.
So that’s what we’re talking about on the Forum this Sunday night…

Do you think this law is a good idea or not? Should it be introduced in New Zealand too?

What are your thoughts on body image issues? How much should we care about our image?

Why does society expect you to look a certain way? Is there anything wrong with that?

Listen below to how it went.
