You see bones he sees life

'...and the bones came together...' Ezekiel 37:7 NIV

Do you think your life is too messed up for God to do anything about?

Then visit Ezekiel in 'the valley of dry bones': 'He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor' (Ezekiel 37:2 NLT). God gave Ezekiel his Word to speak over them: '...I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord' (Ezekiel 37:6 NIV). Suddenly, '...there was a rattling noise. The bones...came together...' (Ezekiel 37:7 NLT) Next we read that: '...[Breath entered them] They all came to life and stood up on their feet - a great army' (Ezekiel 37:10 NLT).

Take a closer look: God told Ezekiel, 'Now say to the wind... breathe life into these dead bodies, so they can live again...' (Ezekiel 37:9 CEV). God didn't tell Ezekiel to speak to the bones; they were too dead to respond. No, they needed raw power. God told Ezekiel, 'Say to the wind.' Without the Spirit of God there's no hope, no change, no future.

So what now? Are you trying every way you know to put your life together? Do you long to get back on your feet? Then open the windows of your soul and let the wind of God blow in! And notice the role God's Word played in this miracle? Nothing will bring order to your chaotic world like getting the truth of the Scriptures into your life. Today God says, 'Come on, cry out to me and I'll move on your behalf!'
