Relationships 1

'May...God...grant you to be of the same mind...' Romans 15:5 NAS

Are you a people watcher? What fascinates you most about people? In the late 1990's the launch of 'Big Brother' started a worldwide phenomenon of reality TV shows, and we still can't get enough of them! Who would have thought that watching a bunch of people stuck inside a house week after week could possibly be entertaining? Or watching people try to dance, survive the jungle, find their life partner, swap children for a week... the list goes on!

We love to watch other people's lives and relationships in this way - because it's easy! We can joke about their problems, discuss their arguments and laugh out loud at totally broken and confused people airing their lives! We don't need to be involved or support or care about these people. But real life's not like that. The relationships we have, with our family, friends and others we interact with, are not something for us to laugh about and switch off when we're bored.

God created us to be in relationship with him and one another. We were told to love one another, no matter who that one another is! Sure relationships are hard work, they can hurt us and cause all sorts of strong emotions but, when they are good, strong and healthy there is nothing better in the world!

So what now? Over the next few days we're going to look at our relationships and what God thinks about them. While we do, think about the relationships in your life.
