Focus on your future

'Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!' Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

It's not God who brings up your past mess ups and mistakes! His Word says, 'But I wipe away your sins because of who I am. And so, I will forget the wrongs you have done' (Isaiah 43:25 CEV). It's Satan who loves dragging up your past; the Bible calls him an accuser. He brings up old memories to try and discourage you, saying 'You're no good', 'You'll never change,' and that 'God doesn't use people who have done stuff that bad'. Just as Pharaoh and Herod tried to wipe out every baby boy in order to get at Moses and Jesus, so Satan will do whatever it takes to keep you from your God-given destiny. He does this by trying to trap you in the past. Don't let Satan lie to you or take away your future!

Each time you mess up, you must decide that you want to change, then ask for forgiveness, and then it's done. God forgets it. You don't need to keep coming back to him time and time again apologising for the stuff you did three days, three months, or three years ago.

The Bible says: 'Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way...' (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV). God has given you a new start. God makes a way for you!

So what now? No matter your past, God has given you a new future - so rise up focus on it!
