Parachute Music in Full Support of New Festivals

Following the announcement earlier this year that Parachute Music Festival would be discontinued, two new festivals have sprung up in the form of Festival One and Cloud Festival.

Suggestions inevitably arose that both festivals were treading on Parachute's toes - but Parachute CEO Mark De Jong has delivered a defiant response in a recent blog post, claiming "our toes are fine!"

In the blog De Jong writes "we’re stoked that others are putting their hands up and are willing to do some of the heavy lifting. Plenty of people will complain when something is taken away from them, only a few will actually be spurred into action. We admire those people."

"I see the individuals who are developing these new events as pioneers. What they are doing is both challenging and risky, but maybe they will create something fresh and impacting. My prayer is that they do."

OXYGEN:INHALE Out Now and Dominating US Charts

Thousand Foot Krutch's highly-anticipated album OXYGEN:INHALE was released in little old New Zealand last week.

And TFK's newest offering has received critical acclaim from listeners as they become the best-selling band on the Top Current Rock Albums chart in the US.

Driving the successful debut in part is the recording's lead single, "Born This Way". The track led their meteoric rise to the top of the Christian Album charts, with NASCAR and ESPN using the track until the end of the year.

It looks like TFK are getting the mainstream audience they deserve!

Check out 'Born This Way' below or buy OXYGEN:INHALE from iTunes.

Brooke Fraser - Psychosocial Video

Brooke Fraser has just dropped the video to her new song, Psychosocial. Apparently Psychosocial was written about facebook stalking, while the video seems to look more at the idea of false idols, in an abstract way. The video was directed by her husband Scott Ligertwood and features robes, javelins, mountains, tattoos, a marble sculpture of a head (Michelangelo's David?), a bullet necklace, and a zippo lighter, it sort of reminds me of the opening scene of Prometheus.
