A Mug Made with Love

This Valentine’s Day (Wed 14 Feb) why not try a DIY and create your special someone their very own personalized mug!

I tried this DIY a couple years ago for my parents forChristmas and it worked so well! They also loved the personalized aspect of the gift ?

So I have been online looking for the same instructions but as it was awhile back I can’t really remember what website I got it from but have found a similar one below from PopSugar.

     -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Buy a plain white ceramic mug (I got my parents mugs from The Warehouse for about $4 each).

  2. Pick a permanent marker (sharpies work best). For long-lasting results, choose oil-based paint Sharpie markers. Regular Sharpie ink can come off even after baking. Pick a colour to use on your mug. You can stay simple and choose one colour, or be more ambitious and use multiple. If you're sticking to one colour, then black is usually a good choice, given its striking contrast to the white background of the mug.

  3. Clean the mug. Before you begin drawing on your mug, clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and cotton balls. If you don’t clean the mug, the paint may be sitting on top of dirt and grease left by your fingers. This may cause the paint to adhere poorly while baking, which can cause it to wash off later. After you clean the mug, do your best not to touch the surface you plan to paint; hold the mug by the handle if possible.

  4. Start drawing. Decide what you want to put on the cup, and maybe practice drawing it on a piece of paper before drawing on the mug. Pick a meaningful quote or a cute graphic to decorate the mug with, and get inspired by googling examples of Sharpie mug projects online. (Tip: if you make a mistake, you can wipe it off with rubbing alcohol)

  5. Dry it out. Let your mug dry for a few hours or overnight before placing it into the oven. You can also draw over it again if you'd like to make sure the pattern doesn't come off in the wash. If you draw over it again, be sure to leave it out to dry again before baking.

  6. Bake it. Bake the mug in the oven for 30 minutes at 180°C. Remember to place the mug in the oven before it heats up and leave it in until the oven cools completely so there won't be any cracks. You can choose to bake the mugs twice to really set in the Sharpie drawings.

  7. Care and wash. Hand-wash the mug gently instead of throwing it in the dishwasher, as a machine washer may ruin the design.

Have fun!

Disney movie watch list

I've seen a 'Disney watch list' go around on social media the last few days and being the Disney-obssessed person that I am, I wanted to share it with you and to also see how many movies I've checked off! (60 if you were wondering.. although some I haven't seen since I was probably 5!)

I think the original list that's been going around is of Disney animations so I've kept it that way, otherwise the list would probably just go on and on AND ON. There are so many Disney movies out there and I feel like 68 are enough to prove your Disney obsession.

Now it's worth mentioning that I have tweaked the list a little, I've also ordered the movies alphabetically, and I know that there are probably a couple missing from here (like some sequels) -sorry if I have missed your fave!

Have fun going through the list, share it round and see who out of your friends has watched the most Disney movies!! Bonus prize* if you have seen all 68!! (*Just kidding about the prize. I don't have one to give away, but if I did, just know it would obviously be Disney-related!)

P.S. What even is Song of the South??

Exciting News for Disney Fans

So I just found out the best thing ever!!!

Disney have just released their Teaser Trailer for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms! I didn't even know this movie was in the works!

I am a massive fan of Disney and I also love ballet! The Nutcracker is such a wonderful ballet story and Disney are turning it into a movie..

I basically almost hyperventillated watching this trailer!

Unfortunately we won't be able to watch the movie for another 11 months as the release isn't until next Christmas season!

But for now, watching this trailer again and again is totally acceptable..
