100s Of People Have Found Jesus at This 6am Run Club

Published October 1st, 2026

Imperium's faith-based half marathon is on 14 November, with 5km, 10km and 21.1km options. Registrations close 10 October: imperiumnz.com
Imperium is more than a run club. Founder Bradden Hurn started it at Mission Bay with one idea: when you do the hard thing, you learn to depend on God. So it's pray, run, plunge, coffee, every Saturday at dawn. Seven people came to the first one. Now more than a hundred turn up, and Bradden says hundreds have come to know Jesus through it.
In this video, Bradden tells Sela and Joe why a run feels safer than a church door for people who don't know Jesus. He also shares the story of people who came straight from a night in town and were met by God. Then he explains why this year's half marathon isn't about 500 runners but 500 stories.
