Lillian grew up without her parents. Her mother died when she was three months old, and her father was abducted and never came home. Hungry, barefoot, and told she was a burden, she couldn’t see how God could be called good.
In this conversation, Lillian shares the day she cried instead of smiling for a sponsorship photo, and the letters from her sponsor that she carried everywhere, even after she’d walked away from home. It’s an honest story about how God stays good when life isn’t, and what a few words of love can mean to a child who has nearly given up.
