God's got it all (4)
Over the past few days we've been learning that because everything belongs to God, we don't need to worry about what we have. We're freed up to live sacrificially. We can find immense joy and deep satisfaction when we give away our time, support, skills, money, friendship and encouragement. That's kind of what Jesus meant when he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive' (Acts 20:35 NIV).
It really does something good for our heart and soul when someone takes the time to give to us. But, when we're the ones giving out, there's a much more lasting and foundational sense of joy that builds up our character. When we allow God to direct our giving, these are the happiest experiences of our lives.
It's important for us to remember that God blesses us and provides what we need, not just so that we can flourish as individuals, but so that we can give out to those around us. It's part of his plan that we take what he provides for us and share it where he needs us to. And the miraculous thing is that when we wisely what we've been given, he multiplies it exponentially: 'He who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents' (Matthew 25:16 NKJV).
So what now? Today, keep an eye out for situations of people giving. Each time you see it, pray hard for the giver, that God would use their giving to bless them.
